Yeah it's your car. Maybe you should buy a dictionary, and then get some new friends who aren't IDIOTS. |

becuase you're the one in possession of the drug, you'll be the one who gets charged. |

Kudos for quick thinking though...
"But Officer, I swear...that's not mine!" |

They don't care whose it is, it's in your car. It maybe your friends or what ever, they normally don't care, you usually get charged with it. If yoru asking if it's legal, yes it's legal to arrest you, if it's in your car. |

Your car though, you are responsible for what is in it be it weed or an open bottle or a gun. Same goes for what is in your house. |

It was in your possession, that would be possession of a controlled substance.
Find a better friend, or quit givin' your pot-head buddies a ride |

Gosh, I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard "It's not mine. I'm holding it for someone"....your in control of the vehicle, hench you are in control of everything in it.....busted |

Sure , let say you give a ride to a friend who has 10 pounds of weed, which you know that he is carrying. You are responsible for who enters your car, and if you knew he was carrying weed on him , then you get busted too. |

Yes, you can either get a ticket or arrested. It depends on the amount found. You automatically assume responsiblity of any possessions in your car according to police. Especially if no one else owns up to it. In that case, get new friends. |

If it is in your car it is yours. You should be aware of who and what is in your vehicle. At your arraignment you can plead not guilty and then talk to the city or district attorney to have the charge reduced. Good luck !!! |

The car is yours--- everything about it is yours--and the control of it is yours----the excuse is as old as the hills--next time don't do drugs or alcohol in the car----lesson learned. |

Was your friend present at time of discovery, and can you pass a drug screen? Those factors come into play. |

I think so, and here's why: You are responsible for what goes on in your house, car and property. It would be very hard to prove that it's not yours. I think you should take the punishment, consider it a lesson learned, and find new friends. |

YUP.
That's what was so funny on Shrek 2 when they found catnip on Puss-in-Boots and he said, "Uh, that's not mine." That's the standard answer when pot is found in someone's car. |

Too damn bad. If it's in your possession, it belongs to you. |

Yes, since it's in your possession (your car). |

You better turn in the owner and be able to prove it wasn't yours. |
