You can't be prosecuted for drinking alcohol whilst underage UNLESS you are on a licensed premises or if you are drunk in the street. For both of these you actually need to be caught red handed by a PC or PCSO.
If you're drinking in the street you can:
Have your alcohol taken off you
Be taken home
Possibly fined £50 if you live in certain areas where public drinking has been banned.
That's it, so stop worrying. |

The plod won't bother to follow up something as trivial as this. Just don't let them catch you drinking behind the local off-licence. |

Can you get your mommy or daddy to rewrite this post for you so the adults can have some idea what you're saying here? Thanks. |

Don't panic. There is no minimum age to drink. The law controls the age of the person who it is sold to. If you buy a bottle of rum and are fourteen, you haven't broken the law. The person who sold it to you has. You don't say what you were doing when the lady took the bottle and reported you to the police. You might break laws about drinking in public, being drunk and disorderly. Actually drinking alcohol isn't against the law. |

You are legally allowed to consume alcohol in a "private" place from age 5 upwards. Under age drinking is only an offense if it's done in public, or if you behave in a disorderly manner in public whilst drunk, you could also get in trouble.
As previously stated, your prints could only ever prove that you held the bottle, not that you drank from it, or where you were if you did, and the police aren't going to arrest you and take your prints over some mad woman's allegations of cider drinking teens.
They've got absolutely nothing to go on, the worst they will do is call your parents, so stop worrying.
"It is only illegal for those aged 5-17 to drink alcohol on licensed premises (e.g. a pub or restaurant); they may legally drink alcohol in private above the age of 5," |

Little less drinking, and a little more schoolin, that's what I think.
But in any case, you don't seriously think the Police would waste their time with fingerprints for an Underage drinking case, do you?
You're safe, although you might get a lecture from mum and dad if it gets down that lane. |

First of all, the prints on the bottle mean nothing if they do not have yours on file, and they simply cannot just take your prints on this mom's word that you drank it. Second of all, your prints on the bottle do not prove that you drank it. It simply means you handled the bottle, which you could have done carrying it inside for your mom after a trip to the store. Third of all, your district attorney has much much better things to do than have police waste time taking finger prints on a liquor bottle for some kid who would just get a slap on the wrist anyways. You will be fine. Stop worrying |

Don't know about underage drinking you sound as though you should still be breast feeding, finger prints on a bottle just prove you held the bottle and since when has that been illegal. The best thing you can do is wait until you have grown up a bit before trying out any more adult pass times. |

These cops have far too much other stuff to worry about then that. They don't have time to check a bottle for finger prints just to catch you underage drinking. you'll be fine. just don't get caught while your drunk or have a beer in your hand then your in trouble |

no of course you can't be done for underage drinking, only if you was acting drunk and disorderly?
and even if they have a bottle with your finger prints on, they cant trace it back to you unless your fingerprints are on the record which means you would have commit an offence previously?
but the least they can do is inform your parents about it the fact you had been drinking, and yo are right it is the shops fault for selling i to you, so you shouldn't worry. |

Hello:
1. Did they take a breathe or blood test? If you did NOT, then they really can't prove you drank anything. If it goest to court, you might have to lie (that would be a personal choice), but if there isn't any evidence, I can't see how it could go to court.
2. I know is sounds corny, but if you don't want to do the time, don't do the crime (thank you Baretta). It IS illegal to drink while underage, but that is your choice also.
3. Good luck. |
