If they can prove it is your car, and they can prove it was illegally parked, it will not matter what make the car is. The fine is the same for a Ford as it is for a Chevy. |

I guess it depends on how much time you have and your personal integrity. If you actually received a parking ticket for something you did the right thing is to pay it and go on. If you really think it was wrong go to court.
If you are fighting it simply because it's a Buick instead of an Oldsmobile beware because judges doesn't like their time wasted. An honest mistake isn't going to wipe out the fact you got a ticket. There is usually a minimum fine if you just pay the ticket but many times there is actually a higher penalty that can be assessed as well as court costs and contempt charges if you decide to push the issue too far. Thought I would throw that in too. I've seen lots of people lose their cool when the judge doesn't agree with them. |

If you were parked in the wrong place, you should pay up. What's so special about you that you can park where others can't? |

Worth a try. But most parking attendends take photographs of cars now so it may be hard to claim it was not your car. |

Unlikely, if you actually committed the offence and they can prove it. If you did and you manage to appeal against it don't expect any help from the law enforcement agencies when something serious happens. OK you get the colour of this guy's shirt wrong so he gets off. It's only a parking ticket. Grow up and pay it. |

I doubt it ... especially if it has your license plate number on it.
Only if you could prove that your license plate was on the car the ticket says it was on. The onus is up to you to prove it was not your car. Perhaps you lent your plate to a friend that day. But that would be illegal unless you had a bill of sale for your friends car. Then you would be guilty because the law will think you bought and owned the car. You may be guilty of not properly registering the vehicle and you'd be open to a heavier fine.
Pay it ... and forget it. Just make sure you feed the meter properly so it won't happen again. Make sure your vehicle is properly registerd with motor vehicles. |

This is the United Kingdom. What they, the authories are asking us to do is pay a fine without first going to trial. It's cash for them on the cheap.
Here in UK a person is "innocent" until proven guilty in a court of law. It is not for the council or the police to decide a person's guilt or otherwise. That's a matter for the courts.
You have a strong case and I suggest you go to court and tell them that someone put a ticket on your car which was previously issued fox another car.

Yes you can, I am sure of it. There is a guy who writes for the Sunday Mirror and who advises people on these types of problems - he has fought parking tickets, etc. for years - can't think of his name but he would be able to help you. Check out the Sunday Mirror website for his details or get hold of a copy.
His name is Ollie Mishcon, legal expert known as Judge Tread and you can write to him via the Sunday Mirror, |
