Can my mother do anything?

i am 18 this year.will be 19 in december.i am in love with a man and he is 27years old.my mother knows about him and dont wnt me to marry him.she thinks he is too old for me.but to me the age doesnt bother.i only know that i love him.and he is a very nice and understanding man.he is well educated,handsome and understanding.he dont have any bad habbits.he is just like my dream man.we are deeply in love with each other.so we have decided to marry without my mather's permission.and without letting her know about it.
so do you think she can do anything to me and my man legally if she comes to know that we are married?and can she blame my guy for marriying me?

i am studying and will still continue studying after the marrieg.and my man said he will help me through out everything.and just to let u knw about my family.my mother is divorced.and she never gave me the love i need.she hated me and still does.she never toletare my happiness.she always pin point me.she always compare me to the rest of the girls.she even told me that when she was pregnent no one wanted me.not even my father.but she keot me.and this is her iggest mistake.so i am thinking why should i secrifise my life for her?she didnt give me anything in my life.she only hurt me.

You are of age that you do not need your mother's persmission and there is nothing she can do to stop it. Just know that by marrying him, you will probably severe all ties to your Mother and she will not be there for you in the future.

Pearl, please don't take this the wrong way b/c what I'm about to say is truly meant w/ the best of intentions. You need to get an education whether or not you marry this 27 yr. old man. If he's as understanding as you claim, then he would want you to become a strong, intelligent and self-sufficient woman!! As I read your question, I have a strong feeling that you still need to mature and become more aware of the world around you from an intellectual standpoint. At 18, you're considered an adult and came make ANY legal decision you choose. As a mother of a 19 yr. old, the only thing I'd worry about is what's in the best interest of my child. From here on out Pearl, the only "blame" that can be given is on you. You're making all the calls for your life, make sure you are ready for the consequences those decisions bring. If he can not wait for you, until you are older, and out of school? Well then, that doesn't say to much about 'how much he loved you"!

As long as you're 18 you can marry who you want. My late wife was was 20 years younger than me....her folks weren't exactly jumping for joy when we married. We were married 25 years when she passed. I guess it worked out. After ten years and two grandkids they finally came around....I went up in the 'polls' to 'acceptable'! If you love him..go for it. Mom will accept the situation.

LEGALLY - no, your mom can't do anything. However... she can cut off ties with you... Will this hurt you significantly? Do you think your relationship with her would ever recover? Whether she has her life together or not.... she has made a good point. It's not impossible for the two of you to be happily married for a long time... but usually when a 27 year old guy wants to marry an 18 year old.... he has issues that you just haven't seen yet. I hope it works out, and that you're happy... but I really wouldn't be surprised if you were divorced within a few years.

Pearl, you are WAY to young to be married. Listen to your mother. You are an adult and can make your own decisions, but most of the time MOTHER KNOWS BEST. And no, she cannot do anything legally. But does this guy mean more to you than your family? Is it worth all the family termoil that this will cause? Once the decision is made, its too late. WAIT! Get an education.

your mother can not stop the marriage. you are of legal age to marry. however are you sure this man is going to keep you when you grow up? it sounds to me like you are just looking for a way out. the best way out is education not marriage. from the looks of your question you need a lot more educating before you need a husband. if this man is truly educated he would know the answer to this question already.

hey babe been there done that, no there is nothing she can do, legal age concent is 18 and after that your on your own unless you was intement before you turned 18 then yes you have a problem work for the juvinile system so i pretty well no the answer to that,

Souind like that you may need to fogive her so that you can loose your bitterness to her. But I would also suggest that since you are the age to move than do so. It is insanity to keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting a differnt answer. Last suggestion I would do a background check on this man. He has lived more than you and I am sure his past is something you want to know about good or bad. If it is good thats great but if it's bad you can make an informed dicision.
