Yep, and made to pay for damages to the vehicle, and additional fines. It's vandalism. |

PraiseBob
 |
Of course.
Why would you think that people would be immune from arrest when they destroy property, cause a potentially serious traffic safety problem, and make themselves a public nuisance? |
|

QueenBean84
 |
Yes. It's destruction of property. |

An egg on a car can actually break down the paint and therefore you can ruin the paint job on the vehicle by throwing eggs at it. So, yes you can get arrested and fined as well as possibly getting sued by an insurance company if the person reports damage to his insurance. |

Yes, they can. It is at a minimum vandalism. The crime can escalate depending upon how much damage is done to the car itself. |
|

Yes, here is why per Texas Penal Code. Not sure of the state you live in. Most states have a similar or identical law: (see item 3) This is a Class C Misdemeanor if damage is under $50 and can go all the way to a state jail felony depending on cost of damage. Also, prior convictions will increase the penalty of a person if found guilty.
§ 28.03. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF. (a) A person commits an
offense if, without the effective consent of the owner:
(1) he intentionally or knowingly damages or destroys
the tangible property of the owner;
(2) he intentionally or knowingly tampers with the
tangible property of the owner and causes pecuniary loss or
substantial inconvenience to the owner or a third person; or
(3) he intentionally or knowingly makes markings,
including inscriptions, slogans, drawings, or paintings, on the
tangible property of the owner. |

Absolutely !!! Eggs left on a car, within hours will etch the paint. Eggs are very corrosive. This is not a prank, it is damaging property.
Been there, had it done to my car. |

In Virginia, it's a felony to throw a missile or object at a moving vehicle. I believe this law had its origins in some of the labor strife that occurred in this country a century or more ago. |

Yep. It's considered vandalism.
You (or your parents!) could be sued for damages. Let me tell you, paying for a new paint job on someone's car takes a lot of weekends doing yard work. |
