can they charge me as an adult, later when i turn 18? (im 17 and its been 2 months since accident)

I'm 17 and i was supposed to go to court for hit and run.....(leaving the scene) by hitting a phone junction box and a tree

however its been 2 months and still haven't gotten anything in the mail which was supposed to get to me a week after i have talked to the sheriff.

so my question is:
can they still charge me a year later when I'm an adult, and you know charge me as an adult even though this whole thing happened at age 17?----(just turned 17 and 2 months later-boom crash)
(i never got a ticket, only police report)

(this is what the sheriff said like he was BS "You will get something in the mail in about 1 to 2 weeks for your court date........and well if you don't get anything then the attorney may have not done any thing and well.............expect to get one")

Was anyone hurt? I doubt if the tree will complain and I doubt the phone company will file a complaint. I doubt you will get a ticket. In traffic court it does not matter if you are over 18 or not. They are not going to throw you in jail.

They can't do shiit.....What they can do is charge you for failure to appear....If you got a ticket make sure you go to court on the date of the ticket.......I got off of my last charge but because I mist my court date they charged me $950.00 for failure to appear.......Make sure you go even tho you didn't get a mail notice
