It depends on their assignment within the police department! Undercover cops involved in stings, do not carry ID for obvious reason, they will not make an arrest, the arrest team will, who will have on raid jackets and their badges dangling from a chain around their neck! When off-duty most officer do the same, and again this depends on their attire!!!! Yes they can and do!!! |
