Can someone get an appeal and go home off a 25 to life murder charge?

my ex girlfriend told me that her babyfather is getting out of jail next year because he made his appeal.he had a 25 to life sentence for murder.how is he getting out next year?is she telling the truth?

Made his appeal.
Appeal was upheld as a fault in the trial and on appeal to Supreme Court of state it was probably reversed and remanded on a technicality

It is possible if he made parole. He would be on probation/parole for the rest of his life though. But yes it is possible and happens everyday.

i doubt it. shes probably only trying to scare you. but maybe not if he's planning on breaking out.

My son was sentenced 8 years for looking in the window of a home when noone was home ,never made it in the house and didn't steal anything. As I agree he needs to do jail time for his attempt but I don't agree 8 years in prison for it. The crime clearly doesn't fit the punishment. He is awaiting an appeal and he doesn't have any priors . Can he can out of jail on an appeal bond? m in
