Many jurisdictions have noise level restrictions, even during the day, that can be measured by sound meters. You should find out if they have it where you live.
If they don't have it, then it is up to the officer as to what is too loud and if you are cited you might be able to get out of it due to the law being too arbitrary. If they do have it, you will be able to play your drums and figure out just how loud you can play them and still be within the law, providing you can get a sound meter.
Just be sure to stay under the decibel limit. Any accidental going over won't matter to your noise sensitive neighbors and you will get charged. |

If there is a local ordinance that applies ... yes they can, or at least they can ask you to stop. Then depending on your response, they could arrest you. |

No, they can't "force you" to stop. However, they can offer you the choice between stopping the noise or being arrested/receiving a court date for violating your local noise ordinance. You slamming away on the drums violates your neighbors' right to peace and quiet in their own home. Have the same respect for others that you would want to be shown. |

it really depends upon the local ordinances. I doubt they can since your drums aren't any louder than a lawn mower or other gas powered tools. |

yes, absolutely.
you should soundproof the room so that you do not disturb your neighbors.
i understand that you are doing this at very reasonable hours. and i give you props for being considerate and not doing it at unreasonable hours. but at the same time.......if you live close to your neighbors.....they shouldnt have to deal with the noise at all. noise pollution is very bothersome and makes people very sad.
but to answer your question.....if the cops decide its too loud then yeah you can get a summons. |

No they cannot no matter what state you are in. All though the times vary from state to state you normally will be asked to stop after about 9:00. |
