Can you get arrested for trying to retrieve stuff that was stolen from you?

Yes, I had things stolen from my truck, and asked a cop if I saw the stuff at a swap meet or somewhere could I get it back and he said no unless it is engraved or has a identifiable serial number or something, and you have to call the police to get it back.

My understanding--and I'm trying not to pay too much attention to anything having to do with OJ Simpson--he went in there with guns blazing, screaming curses at the guys holding his stuff. Had he called and said, hey, man, I'd like my stuff back, and I'm coming to pick it up--well, he'd still be languishing in his well-deserved obscurity.

at first, when there was something stolen, you should have reported it, next if you want to retrieve it, it is like revenging, and revenging is sometimes worthy. i think it would take another 4 years for this OJ case.

OJ used a gun to take it back. If you know some one has your stuff and you ask them for it then no you won't be arrested. Let this be a lesson learned that always take an officer with you to get your stuff back or go to small claims court. Street justice never pays off.

Yes, you most definitely can. There is a right way to do things and a wrong way. Simpson decided on the wrong path.

Yes you can, especially if you hold people at gunpoint, and then hold them hostage. Not looking too good for the the slasher kid. I don't think his arrogance is gonna help him on this one.

It is not if you can prove that it was yours in the first place. I would get police involved. O.J. messed up when he took it upon his self to bring guns and let it get out of hand

Apparently you can, that's why he was arrested. I think where he went wrong was bringing guns.

You have the right to but if you'll be involved in something illegal it's probably better to ask the police for help. They will do the door smashing and so forth.
