I will try to sum this answer up so you get a general idea otherwise I would write 10 pages.
If you tried to hang yourself...no but you will be enrolled in a medical treatment program.
If you tried to commit suicide by crashing your car on the highway and in doing so you caused a major accident with personal injury to others or even more, then yes, you would. |

Not in most states. There were once laws, based on religious laws, at one time that made attempting suicide a crime. These laws have been dumbed in most places.
The complainant, like in many cases, would be the State. I was and many laws are, considered crimes against the people. The people are represented by the state via the state prosecutor.
If your attempt disrupts the community the attempter can be charged with whatever is the local disorderly conduct laws. This usually does not happen and the attempter is sent for mental evaluation.
This is a large country and there are strange prosecutors in some locals so strange charges can happen. |

the state is the plaintiff
and you can be ordered into psychiatric evaluation.

No, but the hospital will make you talk to a social worker who puts in a request for you to seek counseling after you are discharged from the hospital. They may want to monitor you for a while too. |

Yes, you CAN be convicted of attempted suicide. There would BE no plaintiff. |

ShadowSky

Suicide is against the law. The plaintiff would either be a law enforcement official or a representative of a mental health hospital. |
|

Just. M.
 |
Yes you can be charged with attempted suicide. The plaintiff is the state. Typically your sentence involves mental counseling. |
