Hey i live in australia, and my friend has hair past his shoulders and we all think to be in the police force, and to get in the police academy he is gonna have to get it cut or shaved, he argues with us all the time bout it but we still think he has to get it cut, does anyone know??

Police officers wear a UNIFORM, and if you look up the dictionary meaning of that word, you find that it means to " look the same" or to be of a "same appearance ".
So, NO he isn't going to have " hair past his shoulders " after day one of his training program. He will get it cut short, for two very simple reasons...... Cleanliness, and officer safety. Ever seen a long haired person, male or female, be thrown to the ground, by their hair ?
That hurts !!/
And a final point, most adults stilll don't trust long haired males to be trustworthy or honest, despite what kids think.

Well many police forces do require this in men, but in women they are aloud to keep their hair they just have to pull it back. He may also be able to do so. |
