my friend from college says that before he flies home for Spring Break, he mails a few grams of marijuna to his home adress so he doesn't have to fly with it on his persons.
is that even possible? doesn't the US postal service screen all shipped packages for illegal substances??

To answer your question...yes you can. ...but not legally.
It would be incredibly stupid to do that though. Yes the US Postal Service uses drug dogs to detect illegal drugs. Yes your friend most likely will be caught...especially mailing to a home address! They would have an address to track him back to! |

Of course you can. Just be sure to write "This package does not contain illegal drugs" on it. |

Of course you can mail it. You can mail just about anything. But you can also get caught and go to jail for doing it, too. |

Funny story
I had a friend who worked at UPS package department and he came accross a package with 5-6 lbs of marijuana in it. He opened it up filled his pockets and sent it to its destination. So I guess if you send it through UPS or any other that is not US postal you have a chance but expect to lose some as it goes from pothead to pothead. Lol |

Well if he sends drugs or brings drugs into US soil he will be arrested. If he mails it dogs most likely will be at the airport smelling all the mail that comes in from a foreign country. And when they smell the drugs it will be opened and HE will be arrested and charged for mailing it. |

Actually, if you wrap it in a cloth soaked with blood and cocaine, the dogs will smell the blood, inhale the cocaine, and not be able to smell anything for a while.
But good luck trying to mail a package soaked in blood. |

If it is a small amount it is unlikely the U.S. Government will spend the necessary resources to prosecute.
That being said, if they do, your friend is looking at some serious jail time in a federal facility. |
