I'm not sure if it depends on the prison, but I have a friends whose boyfriend went to prison for DUI and she sends him letters, and you can even send pictures as long as they are on regular paper and 4x6 or maybe 5x7, not sure.
You should only know that the people in charge will read the letter before they give it to him and also the ones he sends to you.
Hope this helps. |

trying to figure it out

Yes you can, but know it will be opened, inspected and most likely read before your boyfriend sees it. |

Yes, you can... the rules are a little different at every prison so you'll want to send ONLY letters at first- on regular white paper in blue or black ink.
You can go here http://prisontalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=305 for more detailed information |

Yes you can. My boyfriend is currently spending time in jail, and we send eachother 50 page letters, I know crazy! But you can send them, they will just be opened before he receives them. I don't think they read them though so you can write what you want. You can also make him things, and send him books if he wants something to read (but I think the books have to be bought and send directly from barnes and noble.) He can also call you too. You might want to look into a company such as Correctional Billing Services so your boyfriend doesn't call you collect all of the time. The service costs about 50 a month. It gets expensive, but it's worth it. Good luck. |

Of course you can but the contents may be censored.
He can almost always reply but - also after possible censorship.
I hope you do not live to far away to go and see him in person? |

Of course!! But there is certain rules in writing a letter. I know for sure you can only use blue and black pens. No fancy glitter or color pen. |

yes, but as a safety mesure, they must go over it, and if it is bad in any way, you could end up there too. |
