No you cannot but I understand the reason why you might think it's more convenient. Say you are robbed at gunpoint and the robbers are holding you hostage and not nice enough to let you call the police but you have your phone. They are not going to look at you at all times so when the coast is clear, send a SOS in a message to the police department and they can ping your phone and get the exact location. Sounds difficult but we need that feature! Imagine the lives saved! |

I was just talking about this the other day. You can't yet, but I think it's a good option. Say there's an intruder and you don't want to talk....makes sense to me. I know of no department that has this option yet. |

I don't think you can text the police, but if you could text them, i would choose to phone them because they would arrive quicker in an emergency. |

it depends on the dept. some depts use newer technologies, like facebook and texting to submit tips and complaints. just go to the dept's website. |
