first all of all i recommend not to call the police pigs... its offensive to the GOOD police
now ur case maybe you were going 40 and you didn't notice or maybe the cop really was lieing ( which is a bad police officer but there are allot more good cops then bad ones) and if he was leing you should go to court maybe he has a video camera on his dash cam the automatically turns on with the lights being turned on so check that |

if you don't want to pay or go to court, then prepare for a life as a fugitive. |

You can fight it and most likly the cop wont show up for court and your cased will be dismissed and you wont have to pay the ticket thats what a friend of mine did of if you dont wana do that either then you can turn yourself in and pay for it in jail all you are doing is paying your ticket but instead of with money you stay in jail for so many hours it just depends on how much the ticket is for and if you do that then its better to go on friday because it is most busy and if you are good they will let you go early thats what my brother used to do when he got tickets and he didnt pay anything |

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF YOU GET A TICKET
Here are some basic preliminary steps you should take which will get you started in the right direction.
1. What not to do. Please do not think "I'm guilty so there is nothing I can do" and just send in the payment by mail. This is the worst thing you can do. You will be pleading guilty and paying the highest possible fine allowed by law. You can cut your fine at least in half in most cases. It's easy to pay the lowest fine amount and save yourself hundreds of dollars.
2. The first thing you should always do, no matter what the facts are, is PLEAD NOT GUILTY and ask for a court date. You can do this by certified mail, going to the clerks window or going to the court room. You are innocent until proven guilty so make them prove your guilt. Don't do it for them. There are numerous ways they can screw up and your ticket will get dismissed. Also with a little preparation and help you can win at the hearing or before. This will give you time to calmly consider your alternatives and make a better informed decision. It is also the first step in saving money on a fine.
3. The next thing you should do is delay the proceedings by getting as many continuances as you can. Continuances are usually fairly easy to get for things like - you're out of town, can't get off work or you are sick etc. Each continuance increases the chance that the officer won't be there which will result in your ticket being dismissed. This happens 30% to 50% of the time depending on the court. I'd take those odds in Vegas any day.
4. Every time you go to court you should be prepared to fight your ticket in case it isn't continued and the officer is present. Simple but effective preparation is covered in my new book. |

Those speedguns have printers. You call the police dept, and you tell that freaking pig you want a print out of when you were speeding. When they clock it, the information is stored. Then, you go to the police station and pick it up. Go to court, contest the ticket, and then sue for defamation. |

you will have to go to court to fight it cause if u dont they can raise the price of the ticket , and even suspend yr license over a period of time. He might not show up and the whole thing dismissed. Dont lose yr license trying to prove a point that they arent listening too |

In order not to py the ticket you have to go to court.. Thats how the system get you. Most individuals dont like going to court so they just pay for the ticket even though they know they didnt do no wrong. I say go to court and fight so you dont have to pay for a ticket you dont deserve |

just go to court and fight it, if hes not there, they will dismiss the charges. |

You have to go to court and tell the judge that there is some kind of mistake, that you know how fast you were going. Did some other cop clock you a mile up the road and got his friend to ticket you? |

Your only recourse is to go to court. If the cop doesn't show up in court as sometimes happens, you will be found innocent. But you have to go to court. |

well unless you have proof that you were rite then your messed up man thats just the way it is but if you dont agree with the ticket then it will end up in court if you are really rite then you need to dispute it do whats rite man you have rights i just dont know all of them except if he doenst show up in court then you will win the case if it goes that far |

Do nothing.
The warrant that will be issued will only cause you to go to jail for a night when you are caught. |

Well there is a new court fee that even if you win you still have to pay $100 for court costs. |

It is possible that he is merely guessing that you were speeding and that you just slowed down when you saw him.
This happened to me over 40 years ago when I was in college. I received a speeding ticket yet I was going exactly the speed limit.
I was furious.
I hired an attorney which cost far more than the potential fine.
At trial my attorney was able to get the Police Officer to admit that he had not "clocked" me but was merely estimating my speed based on his observation (translation: the officer was merely guessing that I was speeding but did not know for certain)
The judge dismissed the ticket.
It cost me a little over $1,000 in legal fees but that was one of the best investments that I have made in my life.
What it taught me is that when you are right, do not give up.
That has been a rule that I have followed ever since and has returned the value of that investment in my legal fees for that ticket many times over.
Some people say that I hire an attorney for a hangnail ( an extremely minor matter) and they are right. I have found in life that you have to be very assertive about defending your rights.
Winning in court on a traffic ticket is a minor matter, however it reinforces your conviction that you can win if you are right when you are faced with much more serious issues.
You will be faced with more serious issues in life. Defending a traffic ticket with an attorney that you have hired is good practice.
There are books on fighting traffic tickets which are also very good, however my experience with that Police Officer convinces me that I want an experienced attorney with me in court as well.
Look at the legal fee as an investment in your future, like tuition in college.
Your legal fee is part of your tuition in the college of life. |

you asked , i answered...

Some cops reek man . I've had some not good experiences especially with the older ones and i don't even drive! Go to court and fight this injustice he's created! (if u r telling the 100% truth)
You can win and cops arn't always right.
Once my sis' friend was driving and he kept looking at her... sped off... then when they kept driving normal and ended in front of him after a bit on the high way, he pulls them over for no reason and didn't give a ticket he just wanted to talk to her to act like she did something wrong... Can u believe that?!?! |

it won't kill you to go to court. most cops don't like going to court and if he's not there they will dismiss it. if not you might get over with a lighter fine no points!!! |

You can't do anything. The cop is almost always right; in this case, he is right.
There's no way you can prove it.
You could gamble a court hearing and pray the cop won't show up.
I'd just pay the fine. It's quite ugly when the cop does show up. |

call the police station and say that the police verbally abused you and yanked your license out of your hand and that he should be fired. |
