You say the cop is helping "the guy" because "the guy" told you so? I would like to think you are not going to listen to "the guy" that raped you. If you have concerns, ask the cop. The report is public record. Unfortunately rape is sometimes difficult to prove and I am sorry it happened to you. I know during an investigation I have pretended to "side" with a suspect to gain their confidence. It is what we do to get evidence. I hope your case goes well and if not you have the right to know what is going on. |

Wow! How quick some people are to attack the police, based on the words of an accused rapist! Having been someone who wore a badge for 20 years, I can attest to the fact that giving a suspect the false sense of security is one way to get more information. Contact the D.A. if you have any doubts about the investigating officer. The D.A. can also (if you haven't done so already) put you in touch with an advocate who will assist you with the entire process, through the trial, and beyond. May justice prevail for you. |

Tell your attorney and speak to a different police officer! Report this cop for what he's doing. What ever you do don't give up you have to take this thing all the way believe me I've been there but I didn't press charges and now I regret it every day. Good Luck and I'm sure everything will work out in the end just stay on your attorney's butt and make sure they do their job! |

Basicly all the cops in my small town of MA are dirty or just plain dont care about anyone they are not related to or know. I have had quite a few things happen to me, my family and my friends since I've lived here and they did not help once. I'm not saying all cops are like that but around here forget it. If you need help you have to call the State Police if you want a chance of getting help. |

Right then you should have had this oficer call for his "IMMEDIATE" supervisor to come and at the same time asked for a FEMALE OFFICER. It is obivious this cop was an *** about things. He should have never mentioned anything about this guy. Cops do not have opinions--(we should not express our opinions)we only take statements and facts. He was "wrong" for ever saying anything to you-even if this guy would have been a brother or relative to him, not just an aquaintence. You can still file a formal written complaint against him for being unprofessional. You have that privilage to do so. Should you choose to complain then get a signature of the person that you give the complaint to and ask for him/her to date it, with the time on the written complaint and get a COPY for yourself. |

Then you need to either #1, make sure your lawyer knows this, and #2, have your lawyer call the cops supervisor or above and make a complaint. This cop may very well be doing something illegal, so if he is, then the District Attorney will also need to be notified..........but your lawyer should handle that too. Document as much evidents of this as you can. Best of water to you. |

Ahh, it's funny how people can have one bad experience with someone of a certain profession and then label everyone in the profession the same way. Same thing with race. Someone meets one or two bad seeds and all of a sudden hates the whole damn race. Maybe you should change "cops are fools" and say "this guy is a fool". To me, it looks like you are the fool in this situation. |

What gave you the impression that he was trying to help? |

tell your attorney, he will know what to do about it.
many cops stupidly think they know what happened when they weren't there, making asses out of themselves |

I basically agree with Mark J. Just because one cop behaves this way doesn't mean they all do. In fact, the majority of them are pretty good people....but there are still some who abuse their authority....Please don't label ALL of them like this. You could even try talking to this cop's superior (Lieutenant, Captain, Sergeant....whoever). Most of them will want to get at the truth of the matter, especially since it sounds like what happened to you is serious. Please give them a chance to work this out. |
