As a cop let me explain something to you if you don't mind....The whole situaton is stupid...there was no break in and if that sibling feels dumb they should...your cousin (correct spelling) is stupid and should not have wasted the time of the police for something like that espically after a party, where they were tooo drunk to remember what happened...but that's life enjoy the answer and of course enjoy the Taco Bell....

She was stupid...and inconsiderate...and she should be charged and made to pay the taxpayers back for the dispatchers time for her calling 911, and the officer's time for dealing with that. Good thing there was nothing more important going on, like a rape, robbery, murder. You should be thankful you have cops that will actually respond to a "missing taco" call made to 911. Maybe your sis should stop drinking, seems it makes her....stupid....sorry, just call it like I see it.

So let me get this straight. You called your cousin stupid for calling the cops for stolen tacos....but the cops can't call her stupid for calling them for stolen tacos. Isn't that a double standard? For the record, I would have called her stupid too. It's not like the tacos were made of gold or something. Maybe your cousin should lay off the booze for a while. That's certainly not going to ameliorate her lack of common sense. Also, you should probably go back to elementary school for some grammar lessons. It was not very "professional" of the cops...- but then your cousin wasn't acting very "bright". The cops were mad because she wasted their time- & not too many people would blame them. Forget about it- & tell your cousin to STOP getting so drunk. The next time she does something "stupid"- might be her LAST.

I once told a guy to grow up and act like a man. My Captain asked me about it and I told him I did tell the guy to grow up and act like a man, and I considered that pretty good advice. No disciplinary action ever came so I guess he thought it was good advice too.

If I had gotten this call I'd just assume your cousin was still drunk but maybe she is just stupid.

On a side note I usually think a lot of things about people but never tell it to them because I would do nothing at work but write statements for all the rudeness complaints I would get.

Here's the thing - if your cousin really is stupid, then telling her she is stupid is not wrong - the cop was just stating an obvious fact.
To determine if your cousin really is stupid, read her your question, and have her write it out exactly as you read it to her. If she makes half as many spelling errors as you made, she is stupid.
