I am not a cop but Speed limit signs on all streets may help.My street does not have one so people do not know the speed limit.Also by pulling these people over when they are seen speeding.

They should start by pulling over those arrogant Prius drivers who camp out in the left lane slowing everybody up in the name of "safety". Speed does not cause accidents, accidents are caused by drivers going substantially faster or SLOWER than the prevailing speed. So those uppity Prius drivers who have their nose in the air and insisting they are doing good are actually putting people at risk.

none that i can think of, even if higher speed limits did reduce frequency of collisions, which I've never been convinced of, they would increase the intensity of collisions, after all the faster you are going the more catastrophic the damage, also reduced reaction time.

You can't guarantee that higher speed limits are safe and result in less accidents, since it's exactly the opposite.
