No one is that fast and I hope not stupid enought to think they are, surrender would not be an option either if your intention is to shoot me it will not matter if I surrender or not. I could try running quickly to one side while drawing my weapon. hard for most people to hit a moving target, and just hope that I can put one in you if you do hit me.

I think the cop is supposed to reason with the gun man. I'm not sure if that's just on tv, but I think they're supposed to reason with them until the gun man is at a point where the cop knows he won't shoot him and then draw his gun? I'm not really sure, but I hope this helps!!

That kind of question has a ton of outcome depending on various circimstances but in a nut shell, anyone that is dumb enough to do that has to be high on drugs and I'll take my chances and shoot ya!!

I am in the military and we do civil patrols but if a weapon is aimed at me I fire back, I have no time to BS to make you put it down and I am sure I can fire before you do with a pistol or a rifle. As far as I know a city police officer would be trained to preserve life so he may surrender or start a stand off with you but in the federal enforcement its to eliminate the threat

I'm sitting behind the wheel of a 2500+ pound car, with bullet proof glass....You tell me how 4 tire treads on you feels.
Then I'd pull my gun. Actually, my gun would have already been pulled and laid next to me.
Training says I am to try and talk to you. If you won't listen to reason, there's the aim to mame, unless I feel threatened. Then you're a dead man. And I have more than enough to take you out with.
EDIT--And if by some chance you do shoot me, you'd better get a good supply of soap on a rope because you're going to prison for life and going to be someone's ******.

They would shoot you, but not to kill. They may use deadly force only to prevent escape if the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others. Just because you have a gun, doesn't mean that you pose significant threat of death, it could be a water gun.....
