Yes, you can, because it violates the officers human rights and puts others at risk, cos if he's busy dealing with you, there could be an emergancy somewhere else.

There is also the fact that as other have said, water-guns have been used as weapons, filled with corrosive liquid and fired into police officers eyes, police officers have been trained to respond to incidents like this with maximum force to prevent injury to themselves and others. So chances are if you did do it, they'd jump you and restrain you straight away, just in case the gun contained acid or something.

Yes, water gun could contain corrosive material which can be used to blind an officer of the law.

It's not the shape that they're interested in, with water pistols.

Yes, you could get in trouble! A water gun could be used to deliver any liquid (except for stronger acids and bases that would damage the plastic).

Easily available substances like household cleaners, bleach, fuels, etc could be very hazardous if sprayed into the face of the officer.

Same as if someone points an unloaded gun at another person ... it's still assault, even though the gun was not loaded.

In your example ... even if the gun was full of water, an officer would not know that until after they get wet! They might believe that it's a more dangerous substance!

It dosent matter what is in the water gun it would be an assault anyway.
You could be arrested and charged.
However, it would be unwise if they were carrying a gun as you may end up being shot.

absolutely. why? I dont know. my friend took a cop's hat, (joking around) and got tried for assault. another friend threw a water balloon at my schools rent-a-cop and got tried for assault. THEY DONT MESS AROUND

ANYTHING used to assualt ANYONE is considered a weapon.....how does the person know what you have in it? Could be something that burns or a toxic fluid....
Actually it is assualt with a weapon if you use a PILLOW to try and hit someone....

You are living in liberal America. Anything that resembles a gun is a weapon. If you live in California or New Jersey they would lock you up unless you are an illegal alien, then you could use a real gun and they will let you go.
