Court arraignment -- but case hasn't been accused?

I was arrested on a (completely BS-but that's beside the point I guess) misdemeanor obstruction charge on March 15 of this year. I live in Michigan and the incident occurred in Georgia. When I posted my bail, they gave me a tentative court date for my arraignment (May 22) and told me to call the state court for updates about my case.

Since the court date is drawing closer, I called today just to make sure that the date hasn't changed...considering I have to drive sixteen hours to get there. The state court told me that the case hasn't been accused yet and referred me to the magistrate court, who told me the exact same thing.

I guess my question is: what does this even mean? Does it mean the cop who arrested me hasn't pressed charges yet? Considering it's been seven weeks since the incident, I don't understand why it should take so long. I really need to plan this stupid trip to Georgia and would be beyond mad if I showed up and there was no case.

Anyway, I plan on calling back at least once a week until May 22, but if it still hasn't been accused by the week of, what should I do? I know that not showing up to my arraignment would put a warrant out for my arrest and I wouldn't get my bail money back...but if the case is never accused, does that still apply?
Additional Details
Thank you so much for the response. Very helpful. :) So is there actually a chance that the case won't even be prosecuted?

Having worked in the California court system for 20 years, I can tell you what would happen in California. First of all, it's not the cop who presses the charges. The cop presents the case to the District Attorney who decides whether or not to prosecute.

I would keep calling the court clerk's office where you're supposed to appear. It may be too soon at this point to have the case entered into the computer, so the clerk may not show the case as having been filed yet. The wheels of justice turn very, very slowly.

Another alternative you have is to call the public defender's office in the courthouse where you're supposed to appear and see if they can help you. After all, they work in the court every day and know how the system works. Do not rely on what a clerk tells you when you call. I've seen many, many, many people come in in custody because they relied on a clerk's information and didn't come in when they were supposed to and ended up getting arrested.

If after all that, you should end up with a bench warrant for some reason, get yourself to court as soon as you find out about it. Judges tend to look favorably on people who walk in the front door on their own accord rather than waiting to be arrested. Good luck.
