I am doing a research paper on having a Criminal Record. I am almost on my fourth page however i am struggling to find the details of each of these terms and differences between expungement, disclosure, sealing, etc. mostly concerning the state of colorado!
Also, no, i am not trying to get out the easy way by just asking someone. I am just trying to get all the information i possibly can for the paper and for my own education.

Your best option would be to look it up..but!
in my year in AP Law i learned that..
expungement would be if you were arrested, were convicted, and did jail time and then later on it was found that you were actually not guilty from that crime, the court will expunge your record so that it shows you have not been arrested, convicted or severed any time for that crime.
as for disclosure used in court is when a positive identity is made on a suspect, this information is disclosed from the defense until the victim is put on the stand.
Sealing is used mostly in a case for juveniles, once you turn 18 your juvenile record will be sealed so that your employers cannot see the record you may or may not have. to get the record unsealed a subpoena must be obtained |
