Customs and Border Protection geographic location duty station?

When I signed up for the CBPO test earlier this year, I chose the geographic location code of Laredo, Texas. Shortly after I got my scores, I have received the tentative selection letter with all the forms I need to fill out. In the letter it states that I applied for employment in the location of Laredo, Texas but it also says "actual location to be discussed at a later time." Does that mean that I can still change my location? I don't want to be in Laredo, Texas anymore but I do not want to change my location and have to wait all over again to get another tentative letter. So my question is, can I easily change my location or is this going to delay the process even more? Am I stuck with my Laredo, Texas choice?

Short Answer; if your geographical preference is Laredo, you'll get offered some port within the Laredo Field Office.

You can change your location, contact MHC to do so. If you do change you'll have to wait for another TO to be issued for your new location. How long that takes it anybody's guess. Could be a matter of minutes, could be a year or more. Ultimately, will it delay the process? Maybe. Who knows? The closer your are to TSU, the more likely it is to stretch out the process.
