Dallas Police Dept big mistake against person going to hospital, very sad?

This officer is a really sick man, he has no heart, and I wonder if he would happy if another officer treated him the same way. The Dallas police dept. should be really ashamed. I will never live in Dallas with this ugly, sadistic, uncouth display! You have to see the released video of this, it's really sad!!!! This is really unfortunate, but in the end I wonder if this story would be released. What are your thoughts and only answer if you have seen the video of this...please.

This is not about the ticket. When the nurse notified the police officer of the situation, he said we are almost done. This individual had the right to say goodbye to his family member, and he did not get the chance because he kept him there. I don't think he was wrong for him to pull him over, but the way he handled it in the end is unfortunate. I'm sure that police officer would want to say goodbye to his family member or just be by there side. This is where I feel so bad for this individual.

I saw this on CNN and not that I am condoning the officers actions in any way and I hate to be a cynic but my first thought was,"Would this have made the news if it wasn't a football star in the car?"
I doubt it.

Shame he didn't shoot.

I live in Dallas. That cop is a shame on Dallas PD, but he is not the only bad cop here. One lady was arrested for public intox, but she was not drinking! She is suing.
Irving, Tx, a suburb of Dallas also has some bad cops that just don't care about the public. Irving cops were video taped stopping some poor WHITE lady because the cops were "looking to harass." Lady DID stop at the stop sign, but just went past the white line on the street. So, what? We all sometimes goes past that line. The cop was then heard saying, "I hope I can arrest her for not having insurance." Come on! What a bad attitude for a cop to have. Cops should have some concern about the public and not just want to harass and "bust heads."

I am a police officer and have been for 14 years. The officer was right in everything he did, except when the Plano officer, Hospital Security and Nursing staff confirmed that the driver and his wife did have a family member that was dying, he should have understood and voided the ticket himself. I would have even offered my condolences and an apology. I understand why the officer first acted the way he did, but he should have deescalated his actions. If your mother or famly member was dying, and the officer would have acted that way towards you, how would you feel? An apology and no ticket would have been easier than being administratively suspended pending an investigation.

I saw the video. Unfortunately, in all occupations there are people who should not be there. That officer is one of those people. He has issues with control and uses his occupation as a way to exercise that control. I suspect that officer will be terminated, or, if his union is too strong for that, he will be removed from contact with the public.
Why do you wonder if the story will be released? It already HAS been released.
And, actually, no one worries about whether you ever live in Dallas or not. Please don't be naive, along with your outrage. Things this bad and worse happen in all areas and cities. Perhaps even where YOU live.
You don't hear about them, but famous people are not involved, as in this case. If that man had not been a football player, this would not have raised a feather.

Media Man
This is another outrageous attack from Al Sharpton and, as usual, the aim to get whitey. It never ends. No wonder some police officers are a little defensive and suspicious of the left-wing media, which always blames the police. That is the pervasive attitude, just like the day O.J. was found innocent. Blacks across America cheered the day O.J. celebrated his "innocence."

Face it, too much water has gone under that old bridge. The rage runs deep. The remaining issue is when the ultiamate showdown comes. Al Sharpton went after so many like shock jock Don Imus, Sharpton defended Tawana Brawly, which he knew was a complete fabrication. It happens over and over. It just keeps the pot boiling.

Many people will boycott the Cowboys if this player causes the Dallas Police trouble. Citizens are more loyal to the police that a football player. The NFL is gonna find out that people have no real loyalty to a big sports organization. Not in these times. The NFL and the NBA are gonna get a big surprise. Enough is enough of these people. Boycott them and starve the beast is all I hear on the street. Nobody needs football and basketball these days. Both are on there way down, bank on it. Starve the beast.

King Poogie
Last week another NFL "star" ran over a pedestrian in Miami. These "stars" make me puke.

Dallas Police 1 vs Dallas Cowboys 0

I am boycotting these damn stars in the NFL and the NBA. Hit them where it hurts, stop watching or attending. Starve the beast with a boycott. Just tune these players and owners out. Starve the beast.

It's not just in Dallas, many cops take it too far and this cop TOOK IT TOO FAR. It is usually the ones with the power tripping mentality.

Cops with common sense don't roll like this Dallas cop did.

I would have shredded the ticket and sent them on their way.

Sounds like the cop did the right thing.
Would you want the police just letting every person speeding around on the streets go? How about he greet them at their car door with a smile and a refreshing beverage?
Cops know what they're doing. The facts are simple to understand.
The man was speeding, the cop pulled him over., In EVERY state if you burn through an intersection and proceed to run from cops, you get a gun pulled on you., it's standard procedure. OR SHOULD SOME PEOPLE BE CONSIDERED SPECIAL?

I thought it was sad too but now they are claiming racism which I am tired of people immediately assuming things happen to them because of their skin color. I do not think it was about the color of skin but more about the cop on a power trip.

It's That Guy
You know, anyone can make a mistake. But I have to wonder if the officer would have acted that way if it had been white people.
