Designated Driver at underage drinking party?

So recently my friends attended a party that got busted up by the cops. We're all under 21, and I (luckily) happened to NOT be at the party. If I was, however, I was going to be the designated driver like a responsible young man I am.
So, my question is, if the cops come in to bust up a party where there is underage drinking, and I'm 100% sober and the designated driver, am I subject to the law? What sort of punishment would I get if this was the situation? Bottom line, should I bolt or not?

Two points to be added:

1) I'm in New York State
2) What if I request a breathalyzer; if I'm not drinking, I want to prove it, right?

This is your problem, while yes if you where not drinking and its not your place, and you did not bring the booze you should be let go

In reality what happens in these cases is the police will claim they smelled booze on you as well as every one underage, they will not use a breathalyzer on you, as such based upon the police offers word that he/she smelled booze on you, you are arrested, then you have to retain lawyer and have blood work performed to beat the charge

If the law broken is underage drinking, and you weren't drinking...you haven't broken the law!

If you are the owner or renter of the property, you could still be charged for allowing others to drink. In addition, there is a legal term called "constructive possession". If there is something illegal in an area you have control over, and you are aware it is there, you can be charged with possession.

If you have no claim to the property, and were not drinking, you will not be charged.

If you run and are caught, you could be charged with obstructing the investigation because chasing you would likely allow other underage drinkers to escape.

this is the type of question that has no definite answer some cops are lenient and once you told them you were there to be the designated driver you may get a pass,but on the other hand if you run across the type of officer that is just a straight by the book stickler then you could also be in a lot of trouble. so my opinion is for you to make the best decision given the situation.

No dont bolt, you would be totally okay. You should just be a responsible adult and talk to the cops. All they want is the truth, you'd soooo be okay...

If you weren't drinking at the party, the you're fine.

Actually just for being there is a crime.They could call you to come pick them up.But you can not physically be there.Actully being at an underage party is a crime.It also depends on the state you live in.Maybe not a crime but they may take your name down as being there.
