Details on the California Highway Patrol academy?

My husband is considering going through CHP but i cant find the answers on whether or not we'd have to be apart monday through friday- all day and all night, or if we'd get to see each other in the evenings. I know he'd be sleeping @ the academy but would he get to come home @ all other than the weekends?

He could only come home on weekends, if allowed.
The academy is strenous= mentally and physically and the cadets really need to use this time to study and train.
I know it sounds overwhelming as the wife, but it's not bad once you go thru it... the anticipation is always the worst. |

Live in academy. If he's in good academic standing during the academy, he can go home on week-ends. It's been a long time but I seem to remember Wednesday night being free-time as well |

The info is available on their website (via www.chp.ca.gov).
If they're in good standing, they get weekends off. Other than that, they're living at the academy.
