Did I file a false report?? and can I be arrested ?

I had a written contract with someone to sale my car The car was taken and I was never paid for it.I called the person time and time again asking for my money he told me to go @#$% myself. I called the police and filed a stolen vehicle report they arrested the guy and later found the vehicle on side of the road damaged. Now since I had a written agreement with him they say I filed a false report. Is this true and now Im having problems with my insurance paying for the damages please some one help answer this

Don't sweat it too much, after all, there is nothing you can do to change what is, ok? But, you can plead your case, and innocence in court, the judge may see it differently to the police.
Have you been charged, and or summonsed? Find a solicitor, but just sort out your options, you may have to represent yourself in court. Once you have cleared this hurdle you may have the option of a civil case, you could also discuss this with your brief.
Recover the vehicle from the roadside, repair it as best you can and sell it, preferably at night, use some excuse, say as little as possible about it, or the situation you are in.
In future you exchange keys for cash, and do the sales work for yourself.
I disagree with the other answers somewhat. You authorised this person to sell the car on your behalf, i assume from a yard or something? (i hope so) You DID NOT authorise this person to drive the car as if it were his own property, nor did you authorise him, or engage him to trash your car, say for insurance fraud, right? Your insurer may well decline to honor the contract, for that you need a lawyer, insurers are generally knowlegable about their legal position, but you could test it. You may need to finally claim against this persons estate, in that when he dies you get paid, but that doesent fit as an option does it, lol. (no, best NOT to hasten that day, tempted as we may be on occaision!)
Never try to cut corners with these sorts of deals. Fingers crossed, lets hope your luck improves some!

If you didnt do it on purpose then no. If you didnt steal the car and do this yourself then no.

Your insurance, obviously, did not cover the driver. Basically, you sold the car, or at least gave this person permission to drive it, so it was not stolen. You are out of luck.

Yes you can be arrested. You had an agreement with this person weather it was verbal or written. It is a civil matter, not a criminal one and you should have taken this person to court and sued for your money, plus all costs involved. Then the only way out for that person would have been to file bankruptcy if they didn't want to pay you.

By filing a stolen vehicle report, you committed a crime yourself.
