fox news reports of a suspect whos thought to be an illegal who crashed into a bus killing 3 or 4 children. i was wondering if its in the news because she is illegal or because this type of killing just does not happen alot. i know fatal highway accidents happen alot and usually make the news. do you think it should be in the news if it is something that legal citizens do on a regular basis?

dont you have sympathy for one or two of the little kids that got killed? its ok to have sympathy for the adult who killed them but how about a little for those killed?

One reason it's being reported...there were children hurt and killed in this accident. No, it doesn't happen very much. (school buses being hit) Another reason it's being reported..because the driver of the other vehicle is an illegal person living in this country. To answer your second question, if a school bus is hit, it does generally make the local news. |

As far as I know, it normally happen. That's why it was newsworthy. It's not everyday that someone crashes into a school bus and kills some students on the bus. It would've been on the news whether or not the person who crashed into the bus were legallized. |

Not sure with what regularity Americans crash into school buses and kill innocent children but I think it should be reported when it happens. When it involves a person that has no right to be driving here in the first place it should be given twice the coverage. |

Anytime a school bus is involved in an accident, or an incident of any kind, it usually makes the news. And unless someone is suicidal, this is NOT something people just go out and do. It was an unfortunate accident that just happened to involve an illegal. |

Because school buses are much larger than cars and have heavily padded seats, collisions between school buses and cars usually do not kill the children on the bus. I was on a school bus that supposedly hit a fire hydrant and I did not even feel it (I heard about it later and do not know if it really happened). |

If the driver is an illegal I am certain the ACLU will step in and protect her sanctuary here in America. But on the other hand, the parents of those dead kids are going to have a field day suing anyone involved in this from the lowest person to the highest power. |

Pretty common. We have school buses crashed into almost on a weekly basis around here. Probably lost a few dozen kids so far this school year.
No, seriously it's very rare and the driver's legality is just an add-on for extra news. |

Yes this story is getting quite alot of attention because of the tragedies themselves but also because the person who caused the accident is here illegally. i think this would've died out in your news (i live about 30 minutes from where it happened so it's not going anywhere anytime soon for us) relatively quickly if it wasn't for the fact that she was illegal. I would agree that if she was a legal citizen or even just a legal immegrant, there is a pretty good chance you wouldn't hear a whole lot about it....good example being that bus crash in atlanta with the college baseball team or whoever a couple years ago. that got enough press for a couple weeks then the world moved on....that driver was american. I'd bet there is some sort of un-equality about that....but this example out of minnesota just adds fuel to the firey immigration debate. |

Its sad that the news ONLY reports negativety,very little positive information,we all know that negativeity BREEDS negativety,and MOST people thrive on watching negativeity,
