Do I call 911 for noise complaints?

I'm tired of drivers passing through with their radios blasting. I don't think I should call 911 because it's not really an emergency. Who should I contact. I can't stand that loud noise, they have it up so loud I can hear it when they're driving away. I don't like their music and others shouldn't have to hear it either.

The non emergency number for on going problem complaints is 747-HELP. It is manned 24/7. They can help you settle problems with your neighbors.

The non emergency number for the sheriff's police is 941-747-3011. You get fast response but emergencies come first.

You can check to see if others have called or police have been previously sent to the address at
http://www.manateesheriff.com/wps/portal/PublicInterest/ActiveCalls/

If you are covered by a municipal instead of the county police force look up their non emergency number.

You do not want to overload the EMS system with those kinds of calls.

In our area there is a number designated as 311 for those kinds of calls.

You don't call 911, you call the precinct, or the police station. It isn't the emergency number, but it's to report something, like vandalism or a noise complaint. You can find out the number to the precinct in your area by calling information, a phone book or yellowpages.com.

But the kids will have driven away by the time they get there. So don't bother.

Call the top number and report it have the street address ready when you get on the phone. It is a Non-Emergency report.
