They never seem to have them on law&order, but my friend claims they all have badges.

I'm a prosecutor in NJ and I have a badge. We seldom wear them, because we aren't in situations where it is important we be instantly identifiable as law enforcement (as when one is carrying a gun).
The only time I use mine (which is in a leather badge holder) is when I need to show identification. If I'm somewhere that my ID is important (such as if I'm doing something at a jail or prison), I will put it in my pocket so the badge is displayed. |
