Do any police officers support decriminalizing marijuana?

Yes some would rather alcohol be illegal.

Good friend of mine said he'd never had anyone high on weed beat his family up, but most of the violence he saw alcohol factored into the mix

As a kid I went to friends of mine there relatives house who was a cop. He had quite a nice plant growing.
I learned all sorts of things by listening. They get theres free by taking it from others!
So if what ever cop it is can voice his/her opinion without the jeopardy of loosing his/her job I bet more would speak up.
Others wise just like others in this society, afraid to speak there opinions.
Cops are people too. Many are alcoholics many are involved in domestic violence.
More and more states are making it legal for card holders....

I'm sure some would, but I think it should not be illegal especially for terminally ill people. Maybe some of the stupid politicians should learn to put themselves in other's shoes.

I did smoke it when I was younger, but it was a much weaker strain also. The thc level is much higher and more deadly according to my police officer friend.

Most cops won't even bust you for a small stash of weed. And if they do, they think it's a joke.

And as many cops smoke grass as accountants or brick layers.

I'm sure there are some that feel marijuana is harmless like alcohol...they are people after all. To each his own!

Okay, if it's bad for your lungs to breath in smoke in a burning building, then it's bad for your lungs to breath in any kind of smoke, including marijuana. Not to mention that it does bad things to your circulation which cause paranoia and cancer after just 7 years of usage.

Of course there must be.I asked a question here about legalizing pot and every single person. 28 people.said yes we should have it legalized again.so one would assume that many policemen would feel the same way.It makes sense to legilize it. there so many reason why we should demand it to be legilized.I have been caught twice with a little bit of pot and both times the policeman let me go. this was about 25 years ago when I smoked it. I dont like it any longer.I wish I did like it . I used to like it a lot.I know a lady who had her child taken away because she had one pot plant a foot tall in her back yard.It should be a right to grow a darn plant and smoke it.God made it. people have been smokeing it for a hundred thousand years.with no bad result.

I work for the DOJ but I'm not a cop.
I was just thinking about this, and the only problem I have with decriminalization is the legalized cultivation.
Right now it's almost impossible for kids to make beer, but what if they could grow weed?
I say legalize possession for personal use but leave the cultivation laws in place.

I think the only advantage would be that people would waste less money and would'nt do stupid things to get their drugs. I don't believe marijuana should actually be legal.

I represent a law enforcement agency and a lot of my officers would like to see marijuana decriminalized so they could concentrate on crimes that hurt other people. The police do not necessarily approve of all the laws they have to enforce.
