Do my parents have to go with me to court?

I'm 17 and have to go to court in Va for a traffic violation, I was wondering can I go to court by myself? or do I have to have one or both of my parents present?

You have to go with your parent or a legal guardian since your just a minor. You can only go by yourself when your 18 or older.

Its best to have them there. Often the judge will inquire where a juvenile's parents are.

It would be best to call the court and find out so you know for sure. They'll be happy to answer that and any other questions you might have about the proceedings.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get er done while your in there and give your parents a break they didn't make you make bad decisions !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you cannot represent yourself because you are a minor, one of your parents has to go with you to court. The court cannot proceed without one being there.
