Unless you know something I don't, no one takes fingerprints from newborn babies, just footprints. |

There are no fingerprints from birth records that I know of. Besides fingerprints from infants are not eligible to print or recognized in the annals of police crime detection yet. What do the police wants with a fingerprint from birth records for in the first place? Imagine a 46 yr. old guy arrested for let say robbery, and the police will digged up his birth record 46 years ago just for his fingerprint? You might say this cops are like those two in the movie DUMB and DUMBER.
And beside the point, there is nothing much to look at from birth records expect the name/place/time etc. It is just a piece of paper with some written notes on it no fingerprints whatsoever. So what is the use of checking anyway? The police do not have to go back in TIME like the PRINCE OF PERSIA, just to check fingerprints. They do not have the sands of time with them. It is just a waste of time and the taxpayers money if they do digged old records. When some of them probably gone or destroyed already through time and decay. |

If you are arrested it does not mean you are convicted yet. You were not charged with a crime, so no they wouldn't check any of that. Being arrested means you are put into cuffs and go to the police station for further questioning. Until you are proven guilty and charged they fingerprint you and everything, then they check as well to look for priors. |

No, even if fingerprints where taken at birth, which they are not. Footprints are taken in some localities.
Fingerprints are only taken and placed into the data bases (AFIS) when you are arrested. Prints taken when you take certain high security or public license jobs are either kept in separate data bases or destroyed after being checked against the criminal data base. |
