Do prisoners like receiving letters from people or no?

Does it encourage them and lifts their spirits or do they prefer not to get anything from anybody?

Yes, they do, especially if they are friendly Letters. Many men/women are confined and are forgotten about. We need to pray for them and hope their Spirits will be lifted from receiving letters from the people outside. We can not Judge them, but have pity for them. Many are Prisoners that used drugs or alcohol which-ed caused them to do the wrong thing. Some Prisoners really have closed the door to anyone on the outside. Mostly Lifers. The feel they do not deserve to communicate and do not want to . So it depends. Some who want letters and outside correspondence, don't get it. So sad to be locked away and it changes their outlook on life. Pray for them.

I would imagine that interacting with another human being that isn't dressed in orange or is armed with a gun is a relief.
