I have no idea whether some cops do...but I suspect not. I do know however, there are scum out there that are always looking to try to kill a cop.
BTW-Your question makes no sense. Was your friend killed "in cold blood" as your state, or as you write later as the result of a "mistake"? Please you if are going to make up stories to post on YA, at least try to make it a little believable. |

No.
The use of deadly force is something all cops that I know dread, it is not fun, not game, not like on TV, the cost to the officer is higher than most people understand. |

it is not something anyone desires to do.many that are involved in a shooting have a horrible time getting over it.that is real life and not like it is on tv.

Most of the officers I have known are perfectly happy to use their service weapons to qualify and in competitive shooting events.
Any officer worth the badge are not "longing for the day they can shoot a suspect". They are enjoying the days that they finish their shift and go home to their family and friends!
The trigger happy people who attempt to join a police force are generally washed out during the psyche test or during the Academy. Very few make it to the street in uniform , and most of those are such poor problem solvers they usually wash out of police work within a few weeks of hire. |

No, i know police officers who did shoot someone because they would be shot and then they have to quit because they just can't accept it that they killed someone. You think it's all games for them?
Before police officer is hired he goes through a big mental examination that will tell if he is crazy and just wants to kill someone. |

NO! 1. Would you want to have the mental problems that woud occur once you kill somebody in cold blood? 2. The amount of paper work this would entail is staggering. 3. They are screened out before being allowed to carry a weapon. |
