Firmly Against.

Death penalty is a deterrent for the commission of heinous crimes and I am in favor of it.

I am pro-death penalty. Why? Like several have mentioned, they will never offend again, we (the taxpayers) are not required to pay for their continued care, and anyone who commits a crime so heinous that the death penalty is an option deserves it.

Why should the criminal (after convicted) have any rights? Their victims certainly don't.

I AM FOR IT.......HOWEVER THIS IS VERY EXPENSIVE AS HOW TO BE DONE...(this would not be a problem if the murder was shot before he was took to prison in first place.) TOO MANY REAL BAD PEOPLE ARE CARED FOR, SOME OF THEM SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ALOUD TO GET THAT FAR

If you could ever actually prove unequivacolly that the guilty were guilty, then there is a case...

However, how many mis-trials, mis-carridges of justice, falsified evidence, corrupt police, stool pigeons set up etc etc etc have there been in the world and in the media.

Yes to the death penalty as soon as some one convinces me that the system works....which ain't happened in this century or the last so far

I am absolutely for the death penalty. It just needs to be carried out a lot faster than it is being done now. Felons who get to sit on death row for years, living off the money I pay to the government, have no rights in my opinion. They should have all their TV's taken away, don't let them go to the gym every day, none of them should be able to take college classes, read books, nothing. They should be locked in their cells every day to reflect on what they did to get in the predicament they're in.
I'm so tired of hearing people whining about wrongfully accused too. With forensics they way it is today, and improving all the time, the chances of someone being wrongfully accused today are slim to none.
And I bet if we made all the executions public, and televised them, that just might deter people from committing crimes a little more. The more we show that someone's not going to get away with committing murder or rape or whatever, the better. Prison doesn't reform criminals. 99% of criminals who get out of prison end up back in there for the same crime, or a worse crime. I don't work my butt off to pay taxes that keep the worthless no-good criminals in jail. They deserve none of the things we have to pay for to keep them in prison. They apparently have no respect for the life of someone else, so why should we have any respect for any of them? And my last rant: WHY DO THEY SWAB THE PERSON'S ARM WITH ALCOHOL BEFORE THEY SHOOT THEM UP WITH THE LETHAL INJECTION??????? You're gonna kill the guy! Why does he even deserve the alcohol swab???

the death penalty is a deterrent and also there should be an express lane for the death penalty for murderers and rapists

While I agree that it doesn't change the pain of the victim's family. I am a strong advocate for the Death Penalty. It insures not one,but two things. One, they are held responsible for their actions. Two,They will never have a chance to become a repeat offender. Nothing else guarantees these things. The problem is we are not following through with the death penalty fast enough.
Why should a convicted killer be able to appeal his conviction time after time? I say they are entitled to one appeal for the conviction, and one appeal for the sentence. If nothing is overturned they should be out of the penal system the following night. Put to their death. It also galls me that they get a relatively clean death. While those they killed had no such "alternative."

Do you really think sending a murderer to jail for 25+ would make him sorry for killing somone. It justs pisses most of them off. I think that if you premeditate or plan a murder you should get life no parol. However if you do a senseless killing i.e. robbery, driveby, thrill kill you should be killed the same way your victim was.

Killing someone will never take away the pain the victim as suffered for this reason I am against the death penalty.

i think that my country should have the death penalty. it will deter less killings. a life for a life. especialy with child killers etc..i mean what gives any one the right to kill and be let out years later to live again freely. what about the families of the dead. they have to suffer for the rest of there lifes knowing they will never see or even talk to there loved ones again. here its too easy thats why our crime rate is too high.

oh gosh i am so against the death row
reason is
the person who has killed just sits eat drinks and moans about how they are being treated for years and years it cost untold money to keep them there and while they are still breathing and thinking the people who are left behind from the murder that the person did is still crying for there loss
then the big day comes they are going to kill the person who killed a innocent life
but wait>>>>>>>
does that bring the person back who they have killed NO has it cost the tax payer hundreds of dollars YES
i be live you should put killers in the super max in the shu
were they don't see sun light ever again were they have to remember the killing they did for the rest of there life why put them on death row then inject them they had no pain they have no more night mares

but the poor family friends of the murdered person live with night mares sorrow feelings of hurt for the rest of there liefs
No i don't be live in death row it is to easy for the convicted killer
plus they have innocent people stuck behind them walls for things they have not done
NO TO DR
that's my view anyway
respect
shaz

pingy
yeah....if the person..a dreadful psycho..who cant be treated
