It's not unAmerican, it's the law. There are specific reasons to have them and, unfortunately, they don't seem to be enforced anyway. So, I guess, in a way, you win.

Two of the most important principles since the founding of America are "the rule of law, not men," and "no one is above the law." These principles underlie our entire system of jurisprudence and are essential to genuine justice. Therefore, it is imperative that "legal status" laws be strictly enforced. We cannot have justice where some people can get away with breaking the law, and we cannot have equality where some people think the law applies to others "but I have an excuse." It is extremely un-American to fail to enforce immigration laws.

It's un-American to not protect legal citizens from people not legally in the country. While we should help people from other countries that are less fortunate than us, we shouldn't allow them to break our laws to get that help.

Of course not, anybody from any other country should be able to freely move about the United States as they please.
Also, we should give them access to the most secure buildings in the country....even schools.........including the school your children attend.
All of our tax dollars should be spent trying to make these people comfortable.

I think the method of enforcement is the question.

Jack-booted thugs, armed with automatic weapons, busting down doors in the middle of the night without search warrants is unamerican.

Parking by elementary schools and harrassing parents as they drop of their kids is unamerican.

Separating US Citizen children from their parents, and destroying families, is unamerican.

There needs to be a more reasonable and humane approach to enforcement of immigration laws.
