I believe a lot of laws shouldn't exist. There are already way to many laws in this country. The court system is flooded. The prison systems are flooded. Do you know in California we have sent prisoners to other states because we don't have room for them anymore? It's really silly to me. We should eliminate many of the bogus laws we have and focus more on the real issues. What we don't need is to build more prisons just to hold all of the recreational drug users. |

I suffer with pain every day and if it would help and were able to obtain it legally I would, I see no reason to arrest the non violent users, most of them are non violent good people anyway they do not harm anyone and should not bothered by the law |

I don't beleive in legallizing it for medical purposes cause we have enough pain medications to take care of buisness. There's no need to make it legal and create the nightmare resulting. I don't think there should be jail time for small amounts, a hefty fine is better. |

All marijuana should be decriminalized. the drug is more beneficial than people talk about. it is less lethal than tobacco and other drugs would fall to the wayside as it would be legal, and cheaper. It would be easier to grow than tobacco as well as it will grow anywhere. |

Absolutely. Jail doesnt help anyone or fix anything. There are other ways to resolve issues with minors and possession of marijuana. |

Count me as a yes on this one. |

If it is is for medical reasons, why should they be penalized? Were talking about a 85 year old dieing grandma hear. Should we throw her in jail to? Too many people just don't understand what "medical Marijuana" is. |

It already is no jail time for minor possession in California. |

If you are the person for whom the marijuana is prescribed, then it's not illegal to possess it even if you're a minor. If it's not your script, then it's illegal just as any other prescription drug in the possession of another person other than whom the script was for. |

Not only do I think so, I thought that we in California DID do so. Do state propositions mean anything any more? |

I thought it had already been decriminalised for medical use.
Personal use possession attracts only a caution.
Obviously I live in a different country. |

Why limit to medical use? Why not decriminalize marijuana in small amounts for personal use. And have it controlled like tobacco allotments and give the government tax revenues from it as well? Tobacco is as addictive as heroin and yet it is on the shelves of nearly every corner store. It has warning labels that it causes diseases that can kill. And yet it continues to be sold. That's because there is money to be made. And soon there would be no more money in illegally selling marijuana. So therefore crime rates would fall. |

I think that is the way that recreational users are hoping to get it passed. They don't care about the person who would benefit medically, they are only hoping that will make it easier for them to use it recreationally. What drug should we legalize next? maybe meth? You know the United States has an obesity problem. these people could use it to lose weight!(Sarcasm) |

as a non user i still believe any amount below distribution level should be legal.lets be real the jails are full of people caught with a joint who dont stand a chance of getting a good job after prison, almost guaranteeing that they go back |

Yes. Whether it's for medicinal use or recreational use people would have to use the same precaution as they do for alcohol use. |

Well, let's look at it another way...
Would you think it was okay for the school bus driver to toke a little before work when it's YOUR son or daughter on the bus??
No, I don't think any mind-altering drug is okay to take when other people's lives are at risk. |
