Do you believe that citizens should carry concealed handguns?

I carry when legal, but I'd ride that situation out and be a good witness.

Fine, he's got wires poking out and a possible explosive device under his shirt.. Great, not the guy I want to shoot center mass. A head shot is movie stuff, and not something I want to try in a room full of innocents. Even if I am a stone cold killer and nail him with the head shot, are his skull and its contents going to slow the bullet enough that those behind him aren't at risk?

He MAY have a gun, but hasn't produced it. Are my reflexes better than his? Dunno.

Does he have one or more unannounced partners in the crowd? Dunno.

Do I want to even LOOK like I'm going for a weapon while I have my child next to me? Not unless things degenerate. A robber just wants to get his bag of cash and bail before the boys in blue come. No reason to get edgy. My kid's irreplaceable, my wallet is replaceable.

My unprofessional, noncop opinion is as I said...ride this situation out, be calm, be a good witness, and engage only if necessary. My license to carry concealed is a license to carry, not a license to be Dirty Harry.

Head shot. Every law abiding citizen should have the right to carry, whether or not they actually do is up to them.

i believe everyone has the right to protect themselves and especially there children! i feel that everyone should be allowed to carry a concealed hangun, as long as they have proper training on how to use it, and are not felons! if it came down to protecting myself or my child, or any innocent person for that matter, i would say, take a chance and shoot him!

I carry all the time but I don't know that I'd take the chance of everyone getting blown up by shooting the nutty guy. Even if you get a clean hit on him he could still have time to detonate the bomb before he dies. Snipers train to make what is called a no reflex shot. The shot goes through the eye and disconnects the spinal cord from the brain thereby eliminating the suspects ability to move even if he wanted to. That's a tough shot to make with a handgun laying on the floor in a crowd of people.

99% of people aren't Navy Seals...so I think situational assesment would have to be very quick because once he sees that a person has a weapon on them, he's going to probably go off the deep end. Make the first shot count.

The smart thing would be to give the crazy person what he wants. You try to pull a gun and he could shoot you before you get the chance to shoot first.

I'll give him all I have if he asked for it...
My life is worth much more and when it comes to killing him....
I wouldn't... I rather live without money (i'll get over that) then live the rest of my life, knowing I killed someone. Even if it was self defense, you will always ask yourself.... Did I do the right thing?

Sorry, but IMO, weapons are not a solution to crime, but the cause.
