Do you have any stories about stupid things people have done and got arrested for?

a disgruntled employee of the police force urninating in the jail employee elevator (with cameras) every day for a week. The called him in to the supervisor's office and showed him the tapes- he was wearing his name tag badge and everything. I think it was a misdemeanor though, not an arrestable offense. but he did get fired.

My first job was at a Chevron. There has never been a robbery or burglary there before. I went to work at 6am, and my coworker was in the front, the front doors were smashed in, and there were lots of cops and detectives taking prints and pictures. Someone had rammed the doors in with a truck and stole the Lotto ticket dispensers, about 1 hour before my coworker arrived at work at 4am.

My coworker was frantic after everyone left, she didn't know what to do. My boss was in Hawaii on vacation, and I kept telling her to get ahold of the Lotto people to track and cancel the numbers on the scratchers. Finally the Lotto people answered the phone at 8am, and cancelled them.

About 3 hours later, they called us back and reported the guy had tried to cash in a bunch of them, and he ran off. About an hour later, a Detective called and told us they had him in custody. His license plate had lodged itself in the door, they tracked down his address, and staked out his house. When he came home, they took him into custody.

lol I know my friend was so stupid that he yelled out the window at a cop that pulled up beside them with a beer his hand.. stupid lol

i stopped a guy for speeding and he could not produce a driver's license...so he tried to "drop" names of officers he supposedly knows very well, in hopes that he gets a break....funny thing, he kept "dropping" my name, saying that he goes out with this officer (me) all the time and drinks with him (*i never met the man in my life) and i don't drink...when i told him that i was the officer he was trying to name, he had this dumb look on his face and admitted driving on a suspended license and he has a warrant for his arrest...
needless to say, he got arrested anyways, regardless of the officers he "knows"....hahahaha

Daughter was going out with a guy who held up a liquor store. He shot his finger off when he attempted to put the gun in his waistband. The police printed the severed finger left at the scene and arrested him at his home.

Oh I got lots of those kinds of stories but I'll keep it to one that I still laugh about today:

So my brother and a bunch of his friends went out one night to a bar, they drank themselves silly and decided it would be fun to start knocking off side view mirrors on vehicles on the way home. Well as they're doing this they are getting closer and closer to my parents house. You know those securicor trucks that carry and gather money in large amounts? Yeah well, brilliant as him as his friends are they decided to knock the side view mirrors on it only to find that the guys were still in the truck!! Next thing you know, HAWCS (cop helicopter) is flying overhead looking for the group of losers causing the damage, so my brother - in all his drunken wisdom - tried to run for the house, jumped a fence and thought he was being a chameleon by hiding next to the fence under the tree. What do you think happened? Cops were swarming the area and he was BUSTED!! Thrown in the drunk tank for the night, tried to call and get me to bail him out (yeah right - reap what your sow!)

One guy I know called the police station to see if he had warrants? Needless to say, within a few hours he was in jail. BTW he had several... Duh

i got arrested for kicking a duck at a public park. (cruelty to animals). My hometowns local law enforcing officers know me by name. first middle and last.

Me and my best friend went out to a bar on a Saturday night, we left around 1:am and approuched my friends car. We saw a man at the car with the hood open and cutting cables of the battery. I freaked out when I saw it was my sisters' brother-in-law and I smacked the boy around a little. He was known as a druggie and alcoholic. My friend never got the chance to do anything except call the police back in the bar and was mad at me because I stepped in front of him of the ordeal. The police took the battery thief away, he intended to sale that battery at a junkyard for $5.00.

Three stories. #1. A person walks into the Police station to post bond on a traffic offense for a friend. He is carrying a bag, and sets it on the counter so he can take the money out of his pocket. A noticeable thump is heard when the bag is set down. Yep!, a loaded gun. #2. Person comes into the station to check on a friend. In his back pocket is what appears to a flash light (mag light). Nope!, single shot 12 Ga.. #3. Driver brought in for no drivers license, and gave his brothers (Minister) information instead of his own because he knew he had warrants. The Minister had more warrants than he did.
