I would suggest that your initial wording was quite deliberately misleading, nothing really to do with the detector chair but everything to do with the percentage of answers based on the obvious (but wrongful) assumption.
Proves a point though doesn't it! (or perhaps 2 points) |

Interesting article but seeing as the Prison Officers are generally acknowledged to be doing a lot of the trafficking, hardly a lot of use. |

no because i think death is an easy way out of things. people who commit crimes eg rape, murder etc should be punished slowly and painfully x |

I think it is an excellent idea, at least the prison guards won't have to put their hands up unmentionable places!!
It's just a pity that they can't detect drugs this way. |

The death sentence is not a deterrent, it does not work in many countries that have the death sentence.
And if the wrong person is executed, you can`t say sorry and bring him/her back.
But Life should mean just that...Life! |

I'm not sure how this would work. Would you have three verdicts, 'Not Guilty', 'Guilty', and 'Really, Really Guilty'?
The point is that all Guilty verdicts are determined by the criterion 'beyond reasonable doubt'. If you have a special status for "100% Guilty", then it means that any other kind of Guilty verdict must contain some doubt, else it would be 100% certain. This would leave you with '100% Guilty' and 'Not Guilty'. How is that different from the present, unless we have it as three kinds of verdict, one Not Guilty, and two kinds of Guilty, one being 100% Guilty, and the other being less than 100% Guilty?
Hence Not Guilty, Guilty, and Really, Really Guilty. |
