Do you think all policemen are bullies and thugs?

after what we have seen after the g20 summit, the miners strike, the hunt protesters, and the animal rights protests, all policemen must be bullies thugs and yobs, the very people they are paid handsomely to protect us from

A large number are behaving very unprofessionally. They seem to retaliate against any sort of provocation which is saying that they are out of control. They are unable to keep their cool which they are supposed to be trained to do. A lot are bullies hiding behind a uniform. A very worrying situation. |

No, not all. But there are a few nutters among them who should be weeded out. These people hide behind the uniform, I guess they are social misfits that enjoy hitting/hurting people. You find them in all walks of life, within the police force, they are dangerous as they may well spark a violent backlash. |

No, I think they are doing what they are trained to do. These officers are people too and are just trying to protect themselves. They have no idea what the people could of had on them. If had somebody coming towards me yelling, and kicking off, I would of hit them with the battern too. They could have a knife in their pocket. If they do not back off once warned, police are trained to strike, if they come back for moe and then are hit again, thats they own stupid fault. |

No, not at all. I would love to see some of the whingers on here put up with the provocation that they have to put up with and do nothing about it. Most whingers don't have credibility, they are just anti-establishment. Yes, you get a rotten apple in the barrel in all walks of life but at least they will prosecute their own if they are found out, not like this Labour government! |

I would never think so highly of them. |

don''t be judgmental...there are great police and a few bad eggs that ruin it for all. Most police are wonderful brave hardworking men and women that risk their lives everyday. They do this so the rest of us can live safely in a peaceful environment. |

NO not all of them are. I think the people in power in those organizations are though. Recently the MIAC report in Missouri and the Homeland Security report that links Liberty movement types as being terrorists was leaked to the public/media. So there are some concerned cops and agents out there worried about our country. |

Yeah.
Its drilled into them and must already be an underlying trait to be selected. I have at one time been up close and personal with a police related woman long enough to be told the whole game. Bedtime stories. lol. The works and straight from the training facility. What an eye opener.
Dont be fooled by the nice neighbourhood bobby image.
Even the meekest of UK cops now has that brutal force and full on whack attack just a radio call away and they'll use it !
The OK for this has come right down the line through post 2001 UK / USA alliance under Bush and by EU orders.
As for the proof well its right out there on camera and the worldwide web. Infamous Britain G20/09. And remember if they wear the shirt their oath is to deal the dirt. Believe me I know it. |

Not all. In small towns they can sometimes overreact due to the small amount of "action". I live in a small town and everyone around here complains how they'll give you a ticket for going 3 miles over the speed limit. I've met a few them and they pretty nice guys though. They are human beings, some are good, and some are bad.
BTW police are NOT obligated to protect you from a threat. If you call 911 and there is an intruder in your house, they do not have to go in if they reason to believe it could place them in harm's way. |

Where I live, I find a lot of them irritating. They all have this attitude about them. Something like....they don't wanna be doing this, they're frustrated at their job, and proceed to treat everyone they pull over like lesser beings. I haven't been pulled over myself, but I've been in plenty of cars that have been and every time the police are inappropriately cruel . Obviously the person was doing wrong, but still they really don't need to overindulge in they're "intimating" persona. |

No, the majority are descent people doing the job they are paid for. The problem is, when one of them does something wrong it is highlighted, but the thousands of things they do good, aren't. |

yeah
especially when you get pulled over and they write you a ticket for no reason...he even said that to me
and he said i dont have to go to court...but im under 18 so i had to go
and then you go to court plead guilty and you have to pay 120 dollars for court costs then 90 dollars for the dumb ticket
so 210 dollars for no damn reason
or they stop you and you get arrested cuz they dont like how your dressed
or your walking funny |

No, of course all police aren't bullies and thugs, though I am sure there are some in their midst. You can't judge the whole police service by one event. Are all miners bullies and thugs because of their behaviour during the miners' strikes? A violent riot is a very extreme situation which can bring out extreme behaviour in the heat of battle and your faced with a crowd intent on provoking you to do your worst, just so they can slam you for it later. Unless you have been in the thick of a violent riot it's very difficult to understand how high emotions can run. But of course it's very easy to be an armchair second guesser from the comfort of a living room when you don't have the courage to join either the police or the rioters. In any other country those rioters would have been pasted black and blue, our police force is the only one that goes on the defensive in a riot rather than piling in and giving these low life a taste of baton. If the rioters stayed in their squats or attended their sociology courses rather than smashing windows and spitting at police then they wouldn't end up at the rough end of waning police patience would they. |

Decode this lyrics " Knowing me knowing you"
Just like you and me too.
Living in misery with faulty communication system.
Communicating in movies with hand signs.
Like ET at loss and stranded in "The close encounter"
Communicating with "one for you and one for me" like little "Tom Thumb" in pushing and shoving during crowd control in time.

Most of them. The reason they join is for the power and control they think they have. They have a lot in common with the Nazis
In the US the cops even dress like Nazis:

No. As in all groups there will be the odd one or two who go over the top. On the whole they do a great job. If someone kept coming at me shouting and swearing I too would react. Policemen are human beings too. |
