Do you think the justice system unfairly targets minorities?

I think it does. I don't think it's designed to. I dont think there's a plan to focus on minorities. It happesn though. Police may or may not mean to, but there have been studies done that 'prove' cops pull over blacks more frequently than whites.

If I had to guess I would assume it's a money thing. Nearly every car I see pulled over is a cheap car. They pick on the poor, because the poor can't hire a decent lawyer, so the cop doesn't have to worry about getting sued or anything. The percentages show that minorities are poorer than whites. So it makes sense that they're getting pulled over more.

No, Our justice system is good but not perfect. I do feel to many people play the race card. Its getting old in my opion.

I do not know if the Justice system is targeting minorities per say..but, with that being said I live in the south and a lot of blacks and non-whites are being pulled over for driving nice cars. All non-whites are not drug dealers as the cops assume in fact in Alabama most of the drug dealers on the news are white. As far as Sean Bell I was not there when he was killed. I do not think we know the whole story and never will. I just have to hope and pray that one day we will realize Doctor King's dream for us as a nation....How can we as a nation denounce what is done in the Muslim nation when we are still living in our old ways that every non-white is guilty of something. We can not...God Bless..sorry if I offended anyone by my statements..the truth is just that the truth!

the crazy ****** shot a poor women in the stomach twice for supposedly robbing her....she deserves to be in jail for 8 years...the sean bell thing is crap on the racist thing cause they were cops which is far more important than there race...HOWEVER I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT because of the drastic differences in punishemnt for powder cocain compared to crack...do some research on this...its so racist you can scarcely believe it

theres no way those officers should have gotten away with murder. If its innocent before proven guilty then there was no reason to shoot those men. its disgusting to even think about.

And you know what, when it comes down to it, if it were a white man that they killed i would have been upset to see that there was no justice for him or the family.
Its not about color to me but it kinda is for the authority and im seeing that. People can act like they are blind all day. But they know its the truth.
people will answer you and tell you "well, they felt threatned" BULLLLLL S H I T!!!!!! no weapon was EVER found in that car or on any of those men.
They wouldnt feel the same if that was their families!!

I think money and influence has a greater bearing on the justice system then race does.

not knowing the entire situation i have to assume that the officers felt threatened in the shooting of sean bell making it legal, where remy ma shot someone in the gut that sh claimed stole money out of her purse.

if there is evidence to the contrary with the police officers shooting sean bell then certainly lock them up and it could possibly have been covered up, it still makes your comparison very poor. are you saying that remy ma should not be locked up for shooting another individual

No..In Canada the entire judicial system is a joke. Know of a case where where a dangerous driver killed two people on bikes and all he got was house arrest.

its the massive amounts of minorities doing the crimes compared to the number of whites doing the same crimes. It doesn't matter if you black or white, if your selling dope your getting jail time. A recent statistic said that 33% of all african american men have seen the correction system in America, its kinda hard to play the race card when more examples are given. It all ties in to education however. People commit crimes because they have no other way of getting money, so if we allowed minorities to recieve better education then alot of the problems would be solved.

There is a reason that minorities (black, hispanic, etc) make up the majority of prisoners and felons. It's not because of their race, it's because they're the ones who commit most crimes. While there are rare cases that are cause by racism, people need to stop playing the race card.

No, I think minorities make up a greater population of criminals and, therefore, make up a larger population of prisoners. It's a fact, so don't play it off to racism.
