Do you trust the police?

You tell me. Go check out copwatch.com and policeabuse.org and see what you think after reviewing all the horror stories. Police generally are no good. They are overzealous and out of control in every major city, town and state. The majority are corrupt. They all swear and back each other up even if they know one of their fellow officers is a murderer. In my opinion the majority of them are no good, and by the way, just for the record, I've worked in law enforcement for the state so I know what I'm talking about. I've seen plenty in the courtrooms.

Anyone who trusts them is either naive or has never dealt w hem in the real world. They are nothing but thugs propped up & backed by the government. Cops have the highest spousal abuse rates of all "professions", & it is not "due to the extreme job related stress" BS. It is because they like to knock the crap out of people & know they can get away wit. They try to cover their Ð°sses w he familiar "its a few bad ones that tarnish the rest of us" spiel. Not even close. The reason only a few of them get nailed is because they are extremely adept @ covering for their hog brethren.

So with that philosophy you no doubt feel exactly the same way about whites, blacks, orientals, and anything else that has its good and bad but the bad outweighs the good aspects of it....right?

Well about as much as i trust in the following:
a minister with a collection from Sunday
the Governor of your state?
in God?
trust in anyone?
Trust in anybody?

You will find that if you have 5 friends good friends you have a full life.
Wait till you get sick, have no money and then see who your true friends and fair feathered friends are.

Trust is something you give out lightly or very sparingly.

There Are No Accidents

No. They have too much power and authority...and they're human...which is NEVER a trustworthy combination. And even good cops are under the thumbs of overly aggressive lawmakers and politicians, and can actually get in trouble themselves for using their own discretionary judgement and maybe giving someone a break, rather than just busting people to generate revenue or further someone elses political aspirations/career. Like you...I know there are good and bad cops out there. The problem is, you never know which they are until it's too late for it to make any difference anyway, if they're not.

I don't. I have one friend who is a cop. I trust him as my friend but not as a cop.

I've been let off the hook countless times just for being cute with a nice rack. I know it's in my favor, but I still don't think it's fair. There are a few times that I felt I would have been in jail if I was a minority as opposed to a good looking white chick.

People I know who have been arrested always tell me how the cops embellish the police reports to make themselves seem more justified for arresting the person and the cops seem to think it's okay to lie on the reports just because they're cops.

In my opinion it depends on where you live. I live in Jefferson Parish across the MS River from New Orleans (i.e., Orleans Parish). I trust the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office but not the New Orleans Police. The latter has a long history of corruption and violence.

I haven't been able to trust a cop since I was a little kid. I have a cousin that's a cop and I don't even trust him. Yeah, there are good and bad, but as far as I'm concerned, there are far more bad, horrible cops than good ones.

My best friends uncle raped a girl and so he wouldnt get caught he became a cop (access to the evidence room, etc). Cops where I'm at are all bad. There are only a few good ones, and you never ever get pulled over by them! Ha.

The Sheriff's dept. usually can be trusted, but never local cops. A sheriff is an elected official, a local cop has a job.

By and large, they are there to help us. I think as long as you treat them with respect, they will treat you well.

I've had several interactions with police over my life time. They've always been professional and tried to help on the occassions when I've called them.

The police...are human.

Their main job is to make sure everyone in society is safe.
Without them their would be lawlessness.

So the answer is: Its not your concern to trust the police or not. Their job is to deal with crime.
