Does a US criminal background check find arrests abroad?

Would a background check conducted pick up arrests that occurred in another country such as the EU or Asia?

That will depend on who is running the background check. If it is the FBI running a thorough check then I assume they would find most any criminal history. Of course it depends on where the crime happened and how "connected" that country is. I would assume EU crimes would be fairly easy to find in US based background checks but Asia may be another story.

Unless the employer requests a check outside the US. This typically does not happen unless there is a good reason to do so because the cost tends to be prohibitive.

No they do not unless you are specifically checking for foreign arrests also most criminal background checks are done in the United States for the United States.

Yes it will, though many times you will either be punished by the country your in in their own way, or they will pretend it never happened.
It depends on severity and which country you ran off to.
