I have been told i need to increase my lexipro for the weekend, and i don't want to. Can my mom legally force me to take it?

law on this in the various states is different and it isn't easy to read, either [even after google finds it for you].
what are the possible consequences if you successfully refuse?
one that I can foresee is that your mother may petition the JV court to have you taken into Child Protective Service because she can't manage your behavior without the meds that you won't take.
and that's if your behavior doesn't go completely off -- if it does, you'll likely end up at JV Hall until an involuntary psych evaluation is completed [this takes days and you're in JV psych ward while it happens], after which a Judge may order that you be given meds whether you wish to take them or not. If things get to that point, physical force will be used as necessary. |

Probably, but I doubt it would ever happen.
If you are a patient on a conditional release from an acute psychiatric facility and they are part of your treatment, they can haul you back to the facility! |

If it wouldn't violate Yahoo! terms of service, I'd send you a photo of a teenaged girl and how she looked after her doctor that her mom forced her to go to for depression "upped" her Zoloft for one weekend. Instead, I will just tell you, it should not be legal; however, your mother can put you in the hospital or something if you don't obey. Maybe you could try intelligently, rationally discussing this with the doctor who is prescribing your medicine. |

Obviously there is a reason why you were told to increase the dosage of your meds. It would not be smart to deviate from instructions issued by someone who has MD after their name. your mom cant really force you to take your meds but she can pursue other ways to get you to comply. Worst case scenario is it she can have you committed. |
