Does a profession in law enforcement pay 75k Plus?

I really love the criminal justice field but I do not like the pay. I don't want to be a lawyer and I don't want to be a cop. I'm a senior crim justice major and I'm just wondering what areas (if any) I could pursure that would get me as close to 6 figures as possible. I would have no problem getting my masters or Phd if needed and am just wondering the types of law enforcement jobs that pay the big bucks. Are there any positions with regards to law (non-lawyer, non-cop) that can get me 6 figures... keep in mind I'm willing to meet educational standard required.

It seems like all areas in law all start under 60k regardless of the position... could anyone tell me otherwise? I have no problem getting my masters and or Phd.

My word, yes.

Dispatchers in my department start at $67,320 with NO experience. Records clerks (with experience) start at $62,448. Police Officer RECRUITS start at $73,920 while in the academy, which goes up to $98,676 after you graduate (which is also the starting pay for officers with their POST certificate).

Look in Santa Clara County, California. All of the agencies in my area make similar pay. I think we're the best paid group of LE agencies in the United States.

Edit: No, the above numbers do NOT include overtime. I made well over $100,000 last year. (The exact amount is between me and God...and the IRS.)

Try looking in different geographical areas. Our department starts out paying approx. 75K a year, with most benefits paid, and an awesome PERS 3% at 50 retirement. Most of our officers average around the 90K level with quite alot making more than 150K. Corrections is not for everyone though, as the work environment is extremely dangerous. Most all Law Enforcement in the San Francisco-San Jose Bay area pay extremely well compared to the East Coast, but the cost of living is extremely high in comparison. I don't see how you can be a law enforcer by hating to be a cop. Anyways, other non-cop but cop-like law enforcers are ie; security guards(pays low salary), customs officer(same pay as cops) or a private detective. But P.I is not a law enforcer by profession, they just do investigation (in private). I know i shouldn't say this nor im encouraging it, but i know in some developing countries where cops or law enforcer earns 75K and above. How they earned that much?.....Thru bribe of cos.
