Does anybody know of any police department or sheriffs department in the US that will hire someone with 2 DUI?

I am looking for real solid information on the above question. Let me give you a bit of info on myself. I am a college grad who has owned and operated my own successful business for 15 years.

11 years ago, and then 7 years ago I recieved DUI's. I realize the significance of these arrests and am not here looking for someone to get on a moral high horse and lecture me. I haven't had a drink in years and never was a regular drinker to begin with. Just stupid and bad judgement at the time. Acknowledged.

Beside those arrests for DUI I have never been arrested and have a clean record. Never been in any trouble, etc.

I took the San Francisco PD and Oakland PD written tests and scored near perfect scores. I passed their agility tests easily. I aced my oral interviews. I was bounced from both during background becuase of the DUI's.

I'm smart, liked by everyone and have a flair for diplomacy in my dealings with people. In every aspect I'm a good canidate, except for the DUI's.

you can not be hired by any law enforcement office in the united states with a felony on your record.

two dui's is a serious character flaw as far as police departments are concerned. Especially when it comes to booze, police wont go near you for hiring purposes. Alcohol is in the top 2 of things that get officers into trouble outside of work. You may want to pursue another avenue of employment.

With the DUIâ€™s it is going to be really tough to get into a PD anywhere. First, do you have a degree in Criminal Justice? That will help get you in the door. At that point, start calling small, really small towns that are desperate for anyone. Be up front and honest, so there are no surprises about your DUIs. The small towns may be more excepting of your past.

When I was a deputy sheriff ,my chief deputy had two DWI's and kept his job because the sheriff and county attorney went to bat for him . I think you are out of luck. At least until the last DUI goes away.Then let your conscience be your guide. Pay for a back ground check. If nothing show's up.Well, Some thing's are better left unsaid.

I don't think that they will, but don't give up there are many thing that you could do in helping the community, because of you change your testimony will help someone to over come. Go to schools and different organization and tell your testimony, because once anything get on your record it there for life. but you prove to the world that people can change, some people will alwayss hold it over your head like they have not done anything wrong and when someone sin and it is brought to the public the feel as though they are perfect and they are not. people will alway talk, but god know your heart.

you know w/2 dui's are you sure you want 2 be hired by a police department? how old are u, but anyways i don't know of any but when u find out let us boozers know so we could follow in your footsteps

With two DUI's I don't think you stand a chance in hell getting on at any PD or SO. Sorry, but you should have learned from your first one.

No police depmartnet would hire someone who had a dui in the last 7 years. Your record wont clear for 3 more years. Try again in 2010 buddy.

How about if you call the different departments in the area(s) you might be interested in working and ask them about it. Explain to them what you have explained to us on answers and see what they say. If they tell you"maybe" maybe" not ask to see the HR dept that makes the decision to hire and get an answer from them

Wow one bad mistake does not mean you will do it again... I am in the same boat! I have not had anything to drink in years and I had my DUI 7 years ago.
