Does anyone know of a good cop?
|
when I was younger we had a few that I really respected.
they are gone (passed away) or picking up cans on the side of the road. ( I thought they had a better retirement plan)
Now days the cops are rude but silly in that they do not last long. This is kinda a rant but I see so many negitive comments
are there any good police left?
No comments from former or active officers. Additional Details I see that we have at least one silly who cannot read

Yes there are, but sadly they are about .01%, when i was a kid cops were respected now they are just as bad if not worse than the 'criminals' they are supposed to protect us from. |

99% of us are good. We just deal with people who occassionall hold us responsible for their problems.
Edit: Or cares. This is a public area after all. |

I am a cop. I give people a 3 strike rule. You have 3 chances to respect me. You give me respect, I give you respect. As soon as you hit that 3rd strike, you are no longer given the benefit of the doubt. I consider myself a good cop. It's people that we deal with on a daily basis who think they should complain. Being good and being cordial to everyone are two different things. I do have a job to do, and no punk is going to stop that. |

Ive never been a cop, But my brothers in the state police, and i think he treats everyone with respect if they respect him. Honesty and being polite can go a long way.... |

I can read, but I don't really care that you don't want my comment...
There are plenty of hard-working, good cops...we could, however, do with a few less cop-haters and criminals.
PS-Nice rant (?), based on all those "negitive" comments that you read-way to form an opinion... |

Your name here, cheap.

Tons of them. |

I live in a college town, and while I have seen/heard of certain instances where people felt mistreated, most of the officers I have met or come across have been pleasant, polite, helpful, and competent.
Keep in mind that these are people who see all kinds of human crap every day of their professional lives. It takes a remarkably strong person not to become somewhat affected by all the cruelty, destruction, violence, and hate that they either witness or see the result of. |

If you didn't want comments from officers then you shouldn't have posted this in law enforcement it should be in the poll section, most people answering questions here on a regular basis are in law enforcement. |

I work with officers almost on a daily basis (and no I'm not a police officer) and I have found that most of them are very professional. There are a few here and there (much like any other profession) that should've never been officers but they are few and far between. |

Wrong number
|
I worked in the criminal justice system 30 years directly for police officers. In those years there may have been 4 or 5 that I would consider "bad police officers". That is out of hundreds. Every bushel has a bad apple. That is a fact of life. |

They are still some good ones out there. I won't even claim that my husband is one of them though. He can be a real *** sometimes. (like when we're fighting ... everybody gets a ticket! lol) |

And yet, when an emergency happens, who ya gonna call? Yeah, these same guys you accuse of being human. And they'll come running, even if today you insult them. |

My ex husband is a good cop! There are still some left. Like 3 or 4! ha ha ha ha ha
I think MOST cops were once kids who were teased and bullied and believe it is there duty to be rude and offensive because they have a badge.
But, my ex although he was a terrible husband he is a excellent cop. |
